Pink Slip Job Fair

Thursday, January 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
REI Auditorium (15th & Platte) $10

LH3, Inc. , a Denver-based interactive public relations and marketing firm, today announced the companies first Pink Slip Party, a two-hour intensive recruiting and networking opportunity. Ten recruiting firms. 200 hungry job seekers. Just one night. The goal of the event is to match local recruiters with recent downsized professionals and those looking to make a career move. “Due to the recent nature of dot com failures, employees are realizing that jobs can disappear in a second no matter how hard you’ve worked, how much you’ve cared or how little of the company’s failures are your fault,” said Lauri Harrison, president of LH3, Inc. “Like our SchmmozeIt! events, Pink Slip will aggregate people trying to effectively network. In this case it is simply expediting the job search process. “The recent economic downturn has caused the once promising job landscape to turn a little bleak. Companies are cutting back. Some are shutting their doors. But Denver is a community filled with promising companies and a talented work force. The right job is out there for everyone. Recruiters and job seekers just may have to search a little harder and smarter to find it. So let LH3 help. For only $10 attendees get access to ten of the top high-tech and marketing recruiting firms in Denver. Plus, all the beer, soda and food they can handle. Join LH3 and our sponsors at the REI Auditorium (15th & Platte) on Thursday, January 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The event is limited to only 200 individuals, so sign up today at: Sign Up Sponsors of the event include: D& B Recruiting, ITJazz, CFS of Colorado, CareersColorado.com, Randstad, Tech Minds, The Matlen Silver Group, and others to be added. —

From Chuck Jones: Jim Harrington of the West Point Society has a request from a friend of his who is looking for someone with “2-3 years of financial experience”. Sorry that’s sketchy but Jim and I traded Voice Mails and that’s all I have so far. I know that most of us are a little past this requirement but thought some of the 95 grads who are looking might be interested and qualified. Please contact Jim directly if you are interested or have a candidate who is looking for a job. Jim can be reached at 303-595-1208 on Monday March 13 or leave a voice mail, as he is supposed to be checking voice mails while he’s out of the office. Can also try e-mail.

My firm, TTC, is looking for a Federal Program Sales Manager. TTC is a telecommunications diagnostic equipment firm. We sell nearly $20M worth of equipment to the DoD, contractors and civilian agencies annually. TTC manufactures and directly distributes mainframes, portable and software troubleshooting tools worldwide. Our firm is quickly approaching $400M of annual sales. The Federal District, which consists of 4 Naval Academy Alumni and our VMI Alum manager, needs a Federal Program Sales Manager to help me in the West.

Job description:
Managing and supporting two to three sales engineers who will be managing federal government sales territories. This person would be responsible for demonstrating equipment in the field (sometimes in the back of a Hummer or on a Hawaiian mountaintop), presenting/positioning equipment to higher levels of management (including Generals/Admirals) and constructing/closing contracts for services or products. This job would require a minimum of an Engineering degree, a willingness to travel, good communications skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that enjoys setting his/her own schedule and getting the job done with little supervision. Further ideal skills would be for the candidate to have previous telecommunications experience (datacommunications/voice both in the WAN and LAN) or technical sales experience. Please feel free to distribute this very brief job description to anyone in the Biznet. Of course, they should feel free to call me at my contact number below. Thanks for your help…I look forward to seeing you at a Biznet meeting in March.
Sincerely,
Mike Morrissey
